love book Groups

This group on Face book has been one of the best books groups with some of the friendliest helpful and supportive ladies I have met on Facebook. The admins all have other commitments in their lives but are always there to show support and fill are pages with great book recommendations. Brilliant interesting interviews of some fab indie author have and of course hot book boyfriend pictures.

“I didn’t start someone else did they added my Daughter and ask who did her pictures and stuff and she said her mum and they said can she be admin on BCG as well and it went from there they have left now we were on about 200 members when they left but she left the group to Kerry we started doing interviews and ask Authors to post their books and pages I do it as a hobby mostly & to help Advertise Indie Authors like my Daughter Kerry.” Quote from Carol wade when I asked what interested her in doing the group

Admins of this group are as follows.

Carol Wade

Kerry FrIth who is one of the admins and carols daughter is also a normal everyday person like most  Indie authors  and without groups like this one and pages i would never have found so many authors that I admire so much .

1)      How old were you when you first started writing

I decided to write my first story when I was in senior school, around the age of 14/15. My best friend at the time was my proof reader/editor and it was about a girl named Holly experiencing love and heartache for the first time. Nothing ever came of it. I think I still have it around somewhere, handwritten in some folder or another. Maybe I should dust if off one day and have it published.

2)      Which genre do you love to read

Mainly chick-lit/comedy romance and the odd thriller/murder mystery.

3)      When was your first novel published

October 2012. It took a lot of courage to go through with publishing my first novel. It was just a hobby and I never had any intentions of publishing of my stories but then my brother told me about self-publishing so I looked into it and I am so glad I did.

4)      What is you most current novel that has been published/due to be published

Handbags at Dawn (published Aug 2013) ~

~ blurb

Cali Williams is an unlucky in love author. Following her recent split from her boyfriend, Cali can’t produce. Her stories are depressing and quite frankly not worth the paper they are printed on. On advice from her agent and best friend Clarke, Cali heads to the country for some ‘time out’ to find herself and get her writing spirit back but as soon as she arrives, she finds herself easily distracted by the country life.

Who knew shovelling horses crap could be so sexy, singing karaoke in the local pub could be so much fun and a change of scenery is, indeed, as good as a rest.

With village gossip, a grumpy but sexy handyman and handbags drawn at dawn, will Cali ever be able to write another best selling novel and find Mr Right or is she doomed for life?

Accents and British spelling are used for this book.

5)      How long have you been with nocturnal press publications

I am a self-published author.

6)      What interested you to start  doing blogs and book groups

I started a weekly blog to keep everyone up to date on my writing progress and have an author of the week to help others with promos. Being an indie author myself, I know how hard it is to get yourself out there and any help is much appreciated. If I can help, I will.  My book group Book Chat Group is a fun way to share my love of books, recommend books, meet new people, and help others with self-promotion.

7)      What do you mainly blog about

Blog tours, promos, reviews, writing progress.

8)      Please tell me 3 things that is not commonly know about yourself

Not commonly known? Umm…

1) My pet hate is slurping. I think it is disgusting and it drives me nuts!

2) I have a ‘thing’ for washing detergents and comforts. I spend more time deciding on which one to buy then I do choosing clothes.

3) I know my chocolate. I wouldn’t say I am a chocaholic but I do enjoy a nice bar every now and then. I eat Nestle and Cadbury but when it comes to Easter eggs it has to be Cadbury. My husband tried tricking me once. He put a Nestle egg in a Cadbury box. I knew straight away it wasn’t a Cadbury egg.

I want this blog not to just be about myself or my novel lust or love, I want to promote others especially those that have been a big support to me from the start right threw to the publishing company who will be publishing my first novel lust of love.

I would like to introduce Louisa Mullerworth a Fellow Author and Marketing Adviser  for nocturnal press publications. Louisa is an amazing person and I really don’t know how she finds the hours in the day to do all the things she does. Louisa has been promoting me on her face book page and following my process for quite some time now. She is always there with great advice and was the one who actually introduced me to nocturnal press publications so without her I wouldn’t have known about the company or be  working with some fabulous people who are going to be publishing my first book.

1)     How old were you when you first started writing?

I was Nine when I started writing, it was funny really. It started as an escape but it evolved into a passion and I can’t now imagine doing anything else other than what I do.

2)     Which genre do you love to read?

I love to read crime fiction and romance comedies, but I also love science fiction thrillers. So really it depends on my mood. The first book I really sat down and read and possibly the most influential was Matthew Riley’s ‘CONTEST’. I have read it at least a dozen times and could read it again with ease. I love it!

3)     When was your first novel published?

2nd November 2011; Mistol; A New Beginning. It will be re-released in 2014 as a second edition after a round of editing and a tweak here and there.

4)     What is you most current novel that has been published/due to be published

Dying To Help; The Beginning Of The End is due out June 18th 2014. It is my first Sci- Fi thriller but one I have been working on for almost ten years! It is wonderful to know that it will be out soon. But also sad, it is an end of an era, although there are two more books to follow in this particular series…

5)     How long have you been with nocturnal press publications?

I signed with Nocturnal Press Publications in September of this year, which seems like such a long time ago now! It is a lovely place to work for and be a part of.

6)     How did you get into marketing for nocturnal press publications?

Do you know what, I am not all that sure… I did a lot of my own marketing and found myself working with some wonderful companies to advertise Dying To Help such as Leicester Tigers, Leicester High cross, Hinckley Golf Club and Moore’s Restaurant in Newton Poppleford. All before I had the cover I can’t say it was easy but it was enjoyable. It is a rush to approach a company and ask if I can use them, or do an event with them. Then a few weeks ago Nocturnal Press asked if I would give the other authors advice with how to do the same. And I love it just as much as writing.

7)     What do you mainly blog about?

I mainly blog about how writing effects you, how creative work on all levels effects people and updates on Nocturnal Press and of course Author Interviews.

8)     Please tell me 3 things that is not commonly know about yourself?

Would you believe me if I said I was shy? Erm, I love nothing more than to curl up with my fiance and dog and watch Family Guy and American Dad…. I strive to find a happy work/ home life balance.

Author Central:

Thanks to Louisa for some great answers I would also like to introduce the founder of nocturnal press publications Who is also a author himself.

I have only recently been signed with nocturnal press publications and started  working with Shane and his team who have been giving me such very good support  and inspiring me to do more .

Shane is a young inspiring fantasy novelist who started writing at a young  age of thirteen and by 2011 he had successfully started and become  the Founder, Chairman and CEO/Author · (Aug 5, 2011 to present) of nocturnal press publications

1)      How old were you when you first started writing

“I started writing when I was 15 years old. I had to do a short story as part of my GCSE coursework and I fell in love with writing from that moment.”

2)      Which genre do you love to read?

“I love to read mostly everything but my absolute favorite genre would be fantasy/mythology. I grew up with Tolkien’s classics such as The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings and I also love reading about the Olympian gods when I was younger.”

3)      When was your first novel published?

My debut book was published and released on September 27th. You can purchase it at”

4)      What is you most current novel that has been published/due to be published?

“My most current would be the book that is available now, however I am already halfway through the sequel in the trilogy called The Last Child of Asgard; Loki. I will be releasing this next August.”

5)      How did you get into starting your own publishing company nocturnal press publications?

“Being an author myself, I went down the route of sending my manuscript to various publishers. Most of them ignored me, but a certain company who I am not at liberty to give their name, got back to me and said that they liked my work. They gave me all this literature and it was then, that I discovered how much the big publishers take in percentages. I wasn’t successful and for that I am very glad because if I had been published by them, I would not have had the idea to form Nocturnal Press Publications. We are officially six years old now and we are growing all the time.”

6)      What interested you to start  doing blogs?

“I love how interactive they are. You get to be really close to your readers and interact with them as they would you. I feel it makes the experience a much more rewarding one.”

7)      What do you mainly blog about?

“I myself blog on our website: about the announcements and development of the company. I don’t currently have one for me as an author but I am thinking about doing so.”

8)      Please tell me 3 things that is not commonly know about yourself?

“OK, I am afraid of wasps, absolutely petrified of them.

I spent from 2008 to 2009 completely homeless when I spent the year couch hopping as well as sleeping in doorways and somebody’s garage, before I found the place I am living in now with my beautiful fiancee, two cats and in 5 months time this Sunday, our child.

Final thing would be that when I was younger I was obsessed with putting things in my ears and I managed to get Lego, crayons, cotton, you name it, it went in my ears… And I can’t believe I just mentioned that in an interview *

I decided to enter a writing competition at the back end of last year which I did not get very far in the competition but by me just enterin  it was the push I needed to carry on writing my first novel lust or love.
